Pizza Fritte (Italian doughnuts!)

This is one of my childhood favorites. My grandmother made these anytime she had leftover dough. I started making these for my kids many years ago and they are always a great sweet treat and a perfect way to end a pizza night!

Pizza Fritte Ingredients
Pizza Dough (see recipe here
Frying oil (vegetable is fine)
Powdered Sugar (can substitute honey)

Pizza Fritte Method
Form the dough into any shape you like. I cut mine into doughnuts but they don’t have to be perfect (as you can see).

Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides.

Sprinkle the doughnuts with powdered sugar or drizzle with honey!

You could also vary these as a savory dish by not cutting out the hole and adding sauce and cheese after frying the dough like a mini-pizza.

Bang Bang Shrimp

There are a number of restaurants that serve Bang Bang Shrimp but the Bonefish Grill is probably the most famous so I tried to come close to theirs. It’s a guessing game to figure out any restaurants recipe, but this one came very close! I hope you enjoy?

Bang Bang Shrimp ingredients:
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Thai Chili Sauce (I used Maggi Thai Sweet Chili Sauce)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1lb large shrimp (remove from shell and devein)
Chopped scallion
2 tsp Sriracha
1 cup corn starch
Vegetables or Peanut oil

Bang Bang Shrimp method:
In a medium size bowl, combine Thai sweet chili sauce, mayo, Sriracha and garlic powder.

Lightly coat the shrimp in corn starch and shake off excess.

Fry the shrimp until lightly brown and crispy.

Set shrimp aside on paper towel to cool slightly.

Add shrimp to chili sauce mixture and mix to cover shrimp all over.

Serve shrimp over a bed of lettuce and top with chopped scallion!

My wife said these were better than bonefish….she often flatters me! Enjoy!

S’mores Pizza

Through the years I’ve made pizza just about every way possible but I’ve never made a dessert pizza until now! This pizza was such a hit with my family I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last time!

S’mores Pizza Ingredients:

Pizza Dough (see pizza dough recipe on this site!)
Chocolate Chips
Mini Marshmallows
Graham Crackers (crushed)
Optional: Melted Peanut Butter

S’mores Pizza Method:

Bake the pizza dough for 5 minutes before topping. Top pizza dough with chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and crushed graham crackers. Bake in 425 degree oven for 5-7 minutes until the top of the marshmallows start to get golden brown. Drizzle with melted peanut butter just after removing from the oven!
