These are certainly not an original recipe, but they are so good it doesn’t matter! I have made these several times and there are never any leftover! Of course, wrapping anything in bacon makes it better!
Bacon-wrapped Jalapeno popper ingredients:
12 large jalapeno peppers
1 8oz package of cream cheese (soften to room temp)
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Optional: chopped green onion or chives
Bacon-wrapped Jalapeno popper method:
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees.
Slice the Jalapeno lengthwise and remove pulp and seeds.
Mix cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder and onion powder. Add green onion or chives optionally. I usually don’t use either but I’ve had them this way and they are great.
Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture and wrap each half with a piece of bacon.
Place the peppers on a baking sheet (best if you have a rack for the baking sheet to allow bacon grease to run off).
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the bacon is crispy. I like them very crispy so i usually take it to 45 minutes!
Ciao! Mike.
